100-acre knowledge park to be built in Lahore for universities

A 100-acre knowledge park is being built in Lahore as part of the Ravi City and Central Business District development projects.

The project was discussed at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, where he stated that these development projects will help to alleviate the population pressure on Lahore while also providing residents with top of the line amenities.

The knowledge park is going to be constructed where university campuses are established, making it a centre for knowledge and research, that would also be profitable and generate revenue that would then be used for the maintenance and preservation of the forests that are to be planted.

These forests will be established in Jhuka Rakh Munir and Rakh Shaheed, and help work towards the aim of environmental conservation; they would also function as an urban wildlife sanctuary.

The meeting also discussed the formation of Pakistan’s first renewable energy industrial zone, which will contribute to the economy in countless ways, including by helping in the creation of 5,000 small and large scale industries and also by generating millions of jobs.
