Tayaba, an Organization to Help Reduce Water Scarcity

Tayaba is an organization which was launched back in 2016 by Momin Saqib and Bilal Bin Saqib who aimed to provide a solution to the ongoing issue of water scarcity and poor infrastructure for water as well. The organization has come up with the ‘H20 wheels’ which are distributed in Thatta (Sindh), Tharparkar, Jacobad, southern Baluchistan and the outskirts of Lahore. The total wheels that have been distributed are around 5,500 and the organization aims to increase their reach to wherever their service is needed. 

The H20 wheel has been designed as a water carrying device to help transport water and make the process of obtaining water easier for those in need. The wheel is easy to use as it only requires the user to roll it across and carries up to 40 liters of water.

Additionally, Tayaba is a non-profit organization that gives everyone the chance to donate and help reduce water scarcity for those in need. The organization also offers volunteers to join in on their team and be part of their mission. The vision of Tayaba is to “Aim to ease the accessibility, storage and transportation of clean water while unlocking economic opportunities for the impoverished and water deprived communities.”

Not only does the organization focus on water transportation but also highlights the gender disparity which is involved in the process of carrying water. Majority of this task is done by women and thus the organization benefits not only victims of water crisis but also the labor that participates in the carrying of water.
